چکیده
In this paper, we prove that into isometries and disjointness preserving linear maps from C0(X) into C0(Y ) are essentially weighted composition operators Tf = h · f ◦ φ for some continuous map φ and some continuous scalar-valued function h.

If (A 0 , A 1) and (B 0 , B 1) are Banach couples and a linear operator T : A 0 + A 1 → B 0 + B 1 maps A 0 compactly into B 0 and maps A 1 boundedly into B 1 , does T necessarily also map [A 0 , A 1 ] θ compactly into [B 0 , B 1 ] θ for θ ∈ (0, 1)? After 42 years this question is still not answered, not even in the case where T : A 1 → B 1 is also compact. But affirmative answers are known for ...
متن کاملWeighted composition operators between growth spaces on circular and strictly convex domain
Let $Omega_X$ be a bounded, circular and strictly convex domain of a Banach space $X$ and $mathcal{H}(Omega_X)$ denote the space of all holomorphic functions defined on $Omega_X$. The growth space $mathcal{A}^omega(Omega_X)$ is the space of all $finmathcal{H}(Omega_X)$ for which $$|f(x)|leqslant C omega(r_{Omega_X}(x)),quad xin Omega_X,$$ for some constant $C>0$, whenever $r_{Omega_X}$ is the M...

In this paper, we give two examples, both of which answer the question in the negative. Both examples are James type spaces considered in [1]. They both possess properties stronger than Property (w). The first example has the property that every operator from the space into the dual is compact. In the second example, both the space and its dual have Property (w). In the last section, we conside...

This paper discusses two common techniques in functional analysis: the topological method and the bornological method. In terms of Pietsch’s operator ideals, we establish the equivalence of the notions of operators, topologies and bornologies. The approaches in the study of locally convex spaces of Grothendieck (via Banach space operators), Randtke (via continuous seminorms) and Hogbe-Nlend (vi...

In this paper, we will primarily discuss one-dimensional discrete Schrödinger operators (hu)(n) = u(n + 1) + u(n − 1) + V (n)u(n) (1.1D) on ℓ 2 (Z) (and the half-line problem, h + , on ℓ 2 ({n ∈ Z | n > 0}) ≡ ℓ 2 (Z +)) with u(0) = 0 boundary conditions. We will also discuss the continuum analog (Hu)(x) = −u ′′ (x) + V (x)u(x) (1.1C) on L 2 (R) (and its half-line problem, H + , on L 2 (0, ∞) wi...
